NVIT anticipates the need for a full-time, ongoing Community Education Assistant at our Merritt campus and invites applications from qualified candidates.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manger, Community Education, the Community Education Assistant is responsible for assisting with and providing support for all activities of the Community Education department. Duties include coordinating textbook/resources for instructors and students, assisting with specific instructor/student needs, responding to general programming information inquiries, program applicant follow-up, maintaining program applicant spreadsheets, handling CE applicant inquiries for programs and applications, monitoring the admissions email address, updating department chairs as needed, deliver “Welcome to NVIT” info sessions for incoming cohorts, filing, collaborate with CE-ARO, CE-Planner and AR-Merritt, process admissions and pre-practicum admissions documents, process applicant to student, registration, process PCB letters, coordinate community program/course schedules including amendments from Dept. Chairs.
- A relevant two-year diploma or equivalent education and experience;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher);
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload;
- Experience with information systems and data entry (Colleague, Self-Service, Informer)
- A detail-oriented ability to analyze, process and distribute information;
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work and problem-solve independently;
- Must be organized and flexible.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture.
