Job Summary:
NVIT anticipates the requirement for a Full-time, ongoing faculty member at the Merritt campus in the University Transfer Department.  The Academic and Indigenous Studies (University Transfer Department) offers courses toward the Associate of Arts Degrees at NVIT as well as courses for transfer to many areas of concentration externally.  This position is seeking expertise in the areas of Psychology, English, Criminology or First Nations Studies.

NVIT anticipates the position will commence once a suitable candidate is available.

  • Doctorate Degree in Psychology, English, Criminology or First Nations Studies (Specific ABD or Master Degrees may be considered).
  • demonstrable commitment to scholarship and research;
  • 3 years post-secondary teaching experience;
  • relevant industry/practical experience is an asset;
  • research/publication skills are an asset
  • strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • strong connections and roots within Indigenous / First Nations communities prefered;
  • ability to work effectively as part of a high functioning, student focused team;
  • strong passion and commitment to learners and learning; and
  • excellent teaching and human relations skills
  • faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community.
