A pathway to higher education

Associate of Arts Degrees

NVIT’s Associate of Arts degrees offer a flexible and accessible pathway to higher education, empowering students to achieve academic and career aspirations. As part of the University Transfer department, these programs enable students to earn credits transferable to universities across British Columbia. With established transfer agreements with most colleges, institutes, and universities in BC, NVIT ensures a seamless transition into bachelor’s degree programs. The BC Transfer Guide simplifies planning by providing detailed information on how courses transfer between institutions.

Students can choose from three specialized tracks: Criminology, First Nations Studies, or General Arts. Each track is tailored to equip students with foundational knowledge and skills in their chosen field.

Associate of Arts in Criminology

The Associate of Arts in Criminology explores the criminal justice system, the causes of criminal behaviour, and the societal impacts of crime. It’s a perfect choice for students interested in careers in law enforcement, corrections, or legal studies, or as a steppingstone to a bachelor’s degree in criminology.

Associate of Arts in First Nations Studies

The Associate of Arts in First Nations Studies focuses on Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives. It prepares students for roles in community advocacy, education, or policy development while fostering cultural understanding and respect.

Associate of Arts in General Arts

The Associate of Arts in General Arts provides a broad education in the humanities and social sciences. It is ideal for students seeking a well-rounded academic experience, preparing for diverse career options or further study in areas such as psychology, sociology, or communications.
