The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology Board of Governors is pleased to announce that Melissa Louie was declared elected by acclamation as their new Board Chair, effective November 22, 2022.

Nicola Valley Institute of Technology President Ken Tourand Signs a 5-year Extension
The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) is excited to announce a 5-year contract ex-tension for President Ken Tourand. The NVIT Board of Governors has confirmed the new con-tract will see Tourand continue as President and CEO of NVIT until October 2027. “There is great work and opportunity ahead and NVIT and President Tourand will continue to strive to meet the post-secondary needs of Indigenous learners and communities throughout British Colum-bia”, said Board Chair Sashia Leung.

New Renewable Energies Professor
As an Indigenous Maori, from Aotearoa (New Zealand), I’m both excited and honoured to instruct NVIT learners, raising awareness of careers within the electrical industry and establishing the Renewable Energies and Technology (RNET) Diploma Program.

NVIT Welcomes Learners Back to Campus
NICOLA VALLEY – The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) welcomed learners back to both their Merritt and Vancouver campuses on the morning of Tuesday, September 8th 2020. Due to the global pandemic, NVIT has implemented a hybrid learning environment where learners have the option to participate either in class or virtually in many of their courses and programs.

Nicola Valley Institute of Technology is pleased to announce a September 2020 intake for it’s new Renewable Energies Technology (RNET) Diploma Program. 15 new and ongoing seats will be made available to BC students through new funding from the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training.

Cordon Bleu Chef to Lead Inaugural Culinary Arts Program at NVIT
Merritt – The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology’s newest addition, the Centre of Excel-lence in Sustainability, includes a state of the art teaching kitchen for NVIT’s newest pro-gram, Culinary Arts. This much awaited program commences January 7, 2019 with a total of sixteen seats to new NVIT learners seeking a profession in the culinary arts.

Alan Casper Learner Profile
Following a ten-year hiatus from academic studies, Alan chose to return to school just two weeks before classes started. As classes started, Alan found himself quite nervous, however, after studying for a year, he can confidently say that returning to studies was the best decision he has made.

SD58 Immediate Entry Bursary
For the first time, the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology has announced it will offer all Grade 12 graduates from School District 58 an Immediate Entry Secondary School Transition Bursary in the amount of $2,525.00 or the equivalent of tuition for one-year of study.
