Academic Planners are available to provide information on program requirements, clarify policies and procedures, discuss educational and career options, monitor academic progress and direct students to other resources when necessary. NVIT encourages students to discuss career and education goals with an Academic Planner before enrolment and during each term to ensure they are staying on track. Academic Planning services are available on both the Merritt and Vancouver campuses. To make an appointment, please use the online booking tool:

If you lack the prerequisites to enter a program or to enroll in a course, the Academic Planners can facilitate an assessment to determine skill level. This assessment is for purposes of providing advisory information to applicants about their levels of academic skills in relation to the demands of the program to which they are applying. The results are intended to help applicants in their course planning; to allow them to make informed decisions regarding their readiness for enrolment; to improve student success in our courses and/or programs, and to reduce attrition due to lack of adequate skills.
Academic Planners can assist applicants who have completed equivalent post secondary level courses at other accredited institutions in determining eligibility for transfer credit.
To make an appointment to see an Academic Planner you can call the planners directly with the numbers listed below or call Reception at 250-378-3300 or toll free 1-877-682-3300.
