U-Pass/Compass Card
Thanks to a partnership between Translink, the NVIT Students Society, NVIT, and the Ministry of Transportation, students at NVIT are eligible for a monthly all-zone transit pass. The U-Pass BC Program costs students less and provides unlimited access to Bus, SeaBus and SkyTrain services across the region. The program is mandatory for all eligible NVIT students and the cost is automatically included as part of your student fees. Compass Cards are available for pick up from designated retailers/machines. Our staff at the Enrolment Services Office can assist you with any questions you may have. U-Pass BC is digital, and is linked to Translink’s Compass Card for NVIT students. Compass is a durable, reloadable electronic fare card that replaces TransLink’s current paper passes and tickets.
Link your Compass Card and U-Pass BC
Student U-Pass BC benefits will continue, and can be accessed with a Compass Card. U-Pass BC will continue to be a great value transit option for students with all-zone transit across Metro Vancouver and discounted West Coast Express fares.
Once students have a Compass Card, they will need to link it to a U-Pass BC account to use it as a monthly transit pass:
Since it can take up to 24 hours for your U-Pass BC to load on to your Compass Card, be sure to log in and request your benefit well in advance of 1st of each month. Don’t get stuck without a transit pass!

Riders do not need to tap "out" of buses as all buses are considered one zone.
