Job Description:

NVIT anticipates the need for term instructors in the Health Care Assistant Program and invites applications from qualified candidates. The courses will be delivered to our students within the Health Care Aide Pathway (HCA-P).

Instructional duties will include course preparation including Moodle and hybrid delivery, laboratory and/or clinical setting. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering the following courses:

HTCA 104: Interpersonal Communication

HTCA 121: Health & Healing

HTCA 111: Lifestyle & Choices

HTCA 126: Personal Care Assistance I

HTCA 116: Introduction to Practice

HTCA 169: Clinical I

HTCA 152: Cognitive or Mental Health Challenges

HTCA 153: Common Health Challenges

HTCA 156: Personal Care Assistance II

HTCA 159: Community Placement

HTCA 179: Clinical II

Requirements/Qualifications:

possess a RPN, LPN, BScN, or MSN degree;

other education qualification may be considered for the HTCA 104 and the STSC 101 courses (ie. Health or Human Services education)

current CRNBC/CLPNBC/CRPNBC registration;

3-5 years recent experience in nursing, with 2 recent years in continuing care settings (work experience in acute or community settings are a definite asset);

experience teaching Indigenous adult learners;

BC Provincial Instructor’s Diploma or equivalent, or willingness to complete the PID or NAID program (some Prior Learning Assessmant Recognition may be available;

Indigenous Cultural Competency course would be an asset;

excellent teaching and human relations skills. Faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community;

Experience with Teams, Moodle and other online teaching platforms are required as well

knowledge of Indigenous cultures.
