Job Description:

The Community Education Department of NVIT believes in community based education and training.  NVIT anticipates a requirement for Term Instructors to deliver the Office Administration Certificate program in Fort St. James, BC.  The program will run from March to June and September to December, 2019 and is dependent on student enrolment.

This program is to develop office administration skills and provide the necessary administrative skills to provide administrative support at the entry level. It is designed for persons who want to upgrade their office skills for certification and those entering the office workplace for the first time. It is ideal for individuals who do not have previous education or background in computing.

  • possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or have equivalent training and experience;

  • post secondary teaching experience preferably with Aboriginal adult learners;

  • extensive computer systems experience with a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite;

  • strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;

  • ability to work and problem-solve independently;

  • a knowledge of Aboriginal cultures.
