Job Description:

NVIT anticipates the need for term instructors to teach courses within the Aboriginal Community Economic Development Certificate and invites applications from qualified candidates. Instructors will be teaching courses face-to-face. This is in conjunction with the Sik-E-Dakh (Glen Vowell Band) located in Sik-E-Dakh BC.

Year One: October 2024 – July 2025

  • ACED 115 – Introduction to Accounting for Continuing Studies
  • ACED 140 – Introduction to Marketing
  • ACED 160 – Community Analysis
  • ACED 161 – Negotiations and Contract Management
  • ADMN 121 – Introduction to Management
  • ADMN 130 - Community Development I
  • ADMN 165 – Introduction to Computing Systems
  • BUSM 200 – Finite Mathematics
  • ENGL 110 – English Composition

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in related field;

  • Post-secondary teaching experience (with Aboriginal adult learners preferred);

  • Knowledge of classroom teaching and learning practices;

  • Excellent teaching and human relations skills - faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community; and

  • Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing.
