A.3.4 Education Council - Remuneration for Students

NVIT recognizes the value that student participation brings to Education Council. To encourage active participation throughout the academic year, students elected to Education Council will receive $75.00 for each regularly scheduled meeting that the student attends.
Elected students will not receive $75.00 if the meeting is cancelled.
Elected students will not receive $75.00 for voting on urgent matters requested via email.
PROCEDURE
- Students elected to Education Council will be given a form for e-deposit by admin support at the first meeting that they attend. Although direct deposit is the preferred payment method, alternative arrangements can be made if necessary.
- Education Council admin support records that the student was in attendance at a meeting, either in-person or online, if applicable.
- A cheque requisition in the student’s name for $75.00 is approved by a Leadership Team member and submitted to payables.
- Students receive $75.00 in their bank account within ten (10) business days.
