DESCRIPTION:Participants will learn how to recognize and support a person at risk of suicide through the following internationally recognized\, evidence-based intervention framework developed by LivingWorks: \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuicide Intervention Foundations \n\n\n\nUnderstanding suicide as a community and public health issue\nExploring attitudes\, beliefs\, and assumptions about suicide\nRecognizing invitations for help and signs that someone may be at risk\nUnderstanding the impact of thoughts\, feelings\, and circumstances that can contribute to suicide risk\n\n\n\nThe Pathway for Assisting Life \n\n\n\nHow to engage in a direct and supportive conversation about suicide\nCreating safety through a collaborative\, respectful intervention process\nExploring what contributes to risk and what supports safety\nDeveloping a safe plan that supports immediate safety and connection to further help\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIntervention Skills Practice \n\n\n\nBuilding confidence in asking directly about suicide\nPracticing active listening\, empathy\, and staying present in difficult conversations\nLearning how to work with a person to reduce immediate danger\nIdentifying resources and supports that can strengthen safety after the intervention\nParticipating in guided simulations and interactive skill practice to apply the model in real-life scenarios\n\n\n\nSuicide-Safer Communities \n\n\n\nUnderstanding how caregivers\, organizations\, and communities can play a role in suicide prevention\nStrengthening readiness to respond effectively and compassionately when someone is at risk\nReflecting on personal wellness and the importance of support following intervention work\n\nRegister today: \nContinuing Studies
