DESCRIPTION:Participants will learn how to support individuals with a history of trauma through the following evidence-based framework researched and created by Oaks Mental Health: \n\n\n\n\nTheoretical Framework for Understanding Trauma \n\n\n\nDefining trauma\nHow trauma impacts relationships\, neurobiology\, cognition\, emotions\, and\nspirituality\nAdverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)\nThe difference between mental illness and a trauma response\nThe window of tolerance model\nFight\, flight\, freeze\, faint\, and fawn responses\n\n\n\nOrganizational/Systemic Forms of Trauma \n\n\n\nHow organizational contexts can perpetuate trauma\nCharacteristics of a trauma-informed/trauma-aware organization\nOrganizational case studies in which participants identify problems and recommend changes based on a trauma-informed approach\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrauma-Informed Practitioners \n\n\n\nSpecific examples of practice that perpetuate or exacerbate trauma responses\nRecognizing and responding compassionately to trauma responses\nPractically applying the principles of trauma-informed care\nPreventing burnout\, compassion fatigue\, and vicarious trauma in helping professionals\nDirect practice case studies which participants identify problems and recommend changes based on a trauma-informed approach\n\nRegister today: \nContinuing Studies
