Course Details
This course is designed to expose students to the area of mathematics that they are likely to require in future studies. Topics to be covered include counting, probability, matrices, linear programming.

  • Prerequisites : MATH 059, or Math 11 equivalent with minimum completion grade of C+ (67%) or permission of instructor.

    Hand-in Assignments 20% 2 Term Tests (2 X 20% each) 40% Final Examination 40% Grading procedures follow the NVIT policy.
    Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course the student should demonstrate knowledge, skills and/or attitudes in the following:
  • concepts of linear equations and be able to solve systems using algebra and matrices;

  • concepts of linear systems to solve business problems;

  • concepts of introductory probability; and

  • concepts of mathematics as they relate to finance.
