Course Details
This is an experiential field course where students will observe law enforcement practices. The field trip will be centered around a visit to a RCMP training cadet academy.

    Course Outline
    Instructors Qualifications: Five years law enforcement experience.
    Office Hours: 1.5 hrs per week.
    Contact Hours: 60
    Student Evaluation
    Procedure:
    Participation 25%, Daily Journal 25%, Final Exam 50%. Grading procedures follow the NVIT policy.
    Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
  • describe the importance of commitment to training and seeking to improve their own lives;

  • demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the LEPPs’ goal and objectives;

  • understand the dynamics of the community, including how agencies interact and how gaps in service might develop;

  • demonstrate good communication and consensus-building skills; and

  • triage situations for definition and analysis.
