A.2.5.5 Annual Board Planning Cycle
To accomplish its job outputs with a governance style consistent with Board policies, the Board will follow an agenda which annually reviews (a) ends policies and (b) continually improves its performance through attention to Board education and to enriched input and deliberation.
1. The cycle will conclude each year with a review and strategic planning meeting (usually in June). In the first meeting of the new cycle, the Board will develop its agenda for the year.
2. Board education, input and deliberating will receive paramount attention in structuring the series of meetings and other board activities during the year. Where feasible, the Board will identify those areas of education and input needed to increase its level of wisdom and forethought which it can then give to subsequent choices.
