C.3.2. Aboriginal Language Bursary

POLICY
NVIT is committed to assisting Aboriginal communities in the retention and revitalization of their languages. Subject to available resources, NVIT will provide tuition bursaries to students who are pursuing language training in Aboriginal language courses offered throughout British Columbia.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Any student who is registered for any Aboriginal language course delivered by NVIT is eligible for this bursary on a one-time only basis (course repeats* not funded by this bursary).
*Medical withdrawals excluded.
VALUE
The bursary for each Aboriginal language course covers tuition only. Student and Ancillary Fees are the responsibility of the student.
Financial assistance in the form of bursaries is recognized as income by the Canada Revenue Agency. T4A forms will be provided to all recipients in February of the year following the receipt of the bursary.
HOW TO APPLY
Complete the application and registration in full. Once registration has been confirmed by the Office of the Registrar, tuition fees will be covered by NVIT. Students may take the bursary supported language course for credit or audit.
