Course Details

|
The focus of this course is to maintain and broaden the scope and fluency for proficient language speakers. Students will continue to be immersed in the Secwepemc language. Students will demonstrate a highly advanced ability to understand and speak the Secwepemc language, gaining greater fluency, conversational ability, literary skills, incorporating in-depth knowledge of grammatical concepts and complex sentence structures in Secwepemctsín.

Assignments 30%, Reflective Journal 10%, Quizzes/Presentation 50%, Participation in class 10%. Total 100%.
Grading procedures follow NVIT policy.

Learning Outcomes:
|
Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
demonstrate a high level of proficiency in language usage in a wide variety of situations;demonstrate proficiency in describing and explaining common activities and processes;demonstrate an advanced knowledge of grammatical rules structures of Secwepemctsín;demonstrate an advanced level of vocabulary through stories and conversation; demonstrate a high level of speaking, reading and writing abilities; anddemonstrate the ability to speak continuously for 15 minutes or longer.
